What does 2022 hold for organizations?
> The changes left from the pandemic and those to come
All organizations were forced to change many habits and much of their organizational culture in the wake of the pandemic. Some things have returned to normal; however, others are here to stay and continue to transform us as we as a society continue to adapt to these new times.
Rethinking work dynamics, success indicators and reconfiguring the way to reach new levels of productivity through new values are the projections and actions that many companies are already taking.
Being prepared for change is key. That's why today we want to anticipate what the coming year holds for organizations to know where the focus will be and how, with a few adjustments, your company can reorganize itself for guaranteed success.
1 > First projection: health will continue to be a priority
Health will continue to play a key role in our lives. Both on a personal level, as well as on a work level. When we talk about health, it is not only in reference to physical health but also the impact of wellbeing and mental and emotional health. Mental health, before the pandemic, was confined to the private sphere; however, after the confinement and the impact of the virus worldwide, the need arose to also incorporate mental stability within a comprehensive approach to health.
Companies have the challenge of maintaining this axis as a priority for their employees: in particular and from the organizational culture. Generate the necessary trust in each one to generate a good team atmosphere and ensure the fluidity of the work dynamics.
2 > Second projection: talent rises in price
The impact of the pandemic also has a collateral narrative of high labor turnover. People's priorities were redefined and many people in high and middle positions raised their standards of working conditions with new requirements to feel seduced by a particular job. This generated a new demand for talent: refining HR searches and devising new talent attraction strategies became indispensable.
Additionally, incorporating more and better loyalty actions for all levels of the company and being able to offer new Employee Value Propositions, known as EVPs, which are updated and in line with both the company's culture and employees' expectations.
3 > Third projection: never stop learning
Free, paid, modular, synchronous or asynchronous online courses: the time of confinement also taught us the lesson that we can continue to learn and take advantage of the time to incorporate new skills, update ourselves and gain new knowledge regardless of our hierarchy within the company. This move prompted many organizations to bet on the revaluation of skills and competences and also to incorporate constant training into their organizational culture.
In addition, staff training for a reorganization of areas and tasks: improvement and optimization of knowledge, professional recycling, training of people whose positions will be eliminated but who will be reinserted in other related areas will be strategies to which it will be necessary -and eventually effective- to dedicate part of the company's annual budget.
4 > Fourth projection: technology, of course
It is not news: technology is now a central aspect of our lives. In companies, technological updating is a transversal axis regardless of the business line. However, when we talk about technology applied to the internal management of the organization, a term that resonates strongly and has been gaining relevance is People Analytics: the use of powerful cross-cutting data for decision making. An aspect that is growing more and more.
We can also count on the use of Artificial Intelligence, virtual and augmented reality for learning and training in new platforms used for internal management. Technology has made its way and it is necessary that both the organizational culture and each of the employees that make up the company are up to the challenge.
The recent past continues to prepare us today to face the upcoming challenges of the near future. Being ready to face these changes and turn them into opportunities for growth and empowerment of our company and business has to be an overall goal to achieve.
